The South East squad proved too strong for the newly formed North East Squad, who are made up of players who are prodominately new to the sport but who never gave up during the match against their more experienced opponents.

North East Coach, Lindsey Booth, felt the girls showed great determination throughout the game and was impressed at how the girls went about achieving their own personal goals set in the previous training session.   South East Head Coach, Mark Coull, commented: "We are really pleased with today’s performance.  The girls played well as a team, putting into practice some of the skills we’ve been working on in training.  However, the North East squad are relatively new to this level of rugby and the girls are aware they will face tougher competition in the weeks to come."

There were some standout performances from both teams, for the North East new players to the programme Sally Dunbar (Ellon RFC) and Simone Gilmartin (Ellon RFC) who was also the North East try scorer and from the South East Captain Jenny Taylor (Murrayfield Wanderers), who lead by example scoring 19 of the teams 66 points, Lana Skeldon (Gala), scoring 18 points and putting in a solid performance with the boot, and Chloe Rollie (Gala) who demonstrated her lightening quick speed on the wing.
