Only 3 ladies teams had entered compared to approximately 24 mens teams. Day 1 (Saturday) saw the girls in green play against Bracknell ladies. Oban had last played Bracknell in Italy in 2008 and it was great to see them again. This was a win for Oban.

Second match was against Shelford. This was a tougher match and resulted in a draw.

Saturday finished with a hard fought match between the referees and a mixed ladies side. 3 girls from Cartha played in this match too.

After a hectic night of social interaction the Oban Ladies made their way to the sun kissed sand of Magaluf for Day 2. In order to maximise the amount of games,they again played Bracknell and Shelford. Sunday brought a win against Bracknell and a draw against Shelford again.

The Ladies final was between Oban and Shelford. By this time,the Oban girls had amassed quite a fan club and by the time of the final,there was a huge suporting crowd (including the ever sociable Bishopton boys) and the girls began their games to various shouts of "Green Army!" The final against Shelford was a physical game and each of the Oban girls played their hearts out.In the last few minutes Jen McLennan powered over the line with a try which would have made the scores even,only to have it disallowed by the Ref.  

Final score was 4-3 to Shelford.

After the male final,all the players made their way to the nearest clubhouse (Mambo's Bar).

and the prizes were presented by actress Claire Sweeney from Brookside. The partying continued well into the night and whilst the Oban Ladies didn't win the final,they certainly won prizes for their sociability.
