Do you have the talent to go all the way?

Details on this year's U18 Regional Programme have now been released.  Trials will take place on Sunday 21st June 2009 at three venues around Scotland.  Venues will be announced shortly.

The SWRU U18 Regional Programme 2009 will run in three regions; South East, West and Midlands & North.  The programme will include 6 evening training sessions and 2 festival days, with each squad comprising of 22-26 players.

The minimum age for this programme is 15 years old, with the age range of the squad 15-17 years.  Players must be born between 1 Sep 1991 and 31 Aug 1994 to be eligible. 

The programme is based around Long Term Player Development principles, with the aim of identifying and nurturing talented young players for the 2014 and 2018 Rugby World Cups.  The programme develops young talented rugby players incorporating education and lifestyle advice as well as rugby!
