The Borders youth development officer's tag rugby and a seven a side festival saw 130 girls from all over the Borders and North Berwick turn out at Netherdale. The afternoon started with all the girls taking part in the tag festival before regional development officer for the Borders, Brian Renwick, and Peebles youth development officer, Graeme Paterson, led an introductory session on the full contact game.

Many then exchanged the tag for contact 7s which took part along side more tag rugby.

Follow up series "The Queens of the Borders" will take place this season and is open to any female aged 12 upwards who would like to take part in fun training and small sided games.
